Welcome at | VANPARIDON.org |, the personal website of Onno van Paridon.
The site you're currently looking at is the first serious attempt to build a good, and not unimportantly, a good looking website. Please look around and give your opinion by leaving a comment or by filling in the contact form!
The last week we have been busy testing the State Machines with JUnit. Besides testing the functionality we used the EclEmma plug-in to see how well our classes are covered.
We are now looking at what format to use to store the logs. Some formats we are considering are:
We're nearing the end of our third week here at Adyen and we are starting to make sense of the statistics we get from the conversion log files. The system we build to parse and filter the conversion log data has had some mayor improvements since our last post.
In the first week of our internship at Adyen we got to know the company and understand a bit more of the business they are in. As a Payment Service Provider, the role of Adyen in the online payment process is that online shops (merchants) only have to connect to Adyen in order to support multiple payment methods, like credit cards and local payment methods like iDeal, bank transfers, etcetera.
When I created the new patterns for the URLs I deleted all the old ones. One thing I didn't think about, was that I was using the old URLs to link to previous posts.
Browsing through the logs I found that people were still using the old URLs.. This is how I found out about my mistake. I repaired all the internal links, so all should be well now!
As I stated in my previous post, I wanted to create listing pages of the content. In this way you can use URLs like vanparidon.org/[conent-type]/[year-of-publication] to get an overview of all the postings of the given content type in that year.
After listening to a podcast episode, it became apparent to me that I could get more out of my current Drupal installation. Although I had the Pathauto module installed from the beginning, I didn't use it in it's full potential.
As I stated in the about page, I like to listen to Podcasts during my commute. Another good time to listen to them is while doing chores like doing the dishes. In this post I give a overview of my favourite podcasts that might be interesting to you.
If you don't know what podcasts are, they can be best compared to recorded radio shows. The beauty of the system is that you can suscribe to a show and when a new epsidode comes out, it will be downloaded automatically by your computer.
The prototype of the multimedia application we have to develop is nearing completion. Although it will still be a prototype and the "game" inside is very small you can get a good feel of how it should work when taken into production.
Here are some screenshots I made.
In the past week I installed some additional modules on the site. The goal of these modules was to be able to include images in a post. With CCK released as stable and some other released as alpha I thought it was time to install them. Because some modules are still in alpha I won't be setting up a image gallary yet, but will include images in some posts.
